Dancing with Dictators: The Man Who Practiced His Own Funeral - audiobook
After staging his own death, the unnamed leader of a sealed authoritarian state expects silence, erasure, maybe even relief. Instead, he becomes a problem that refuses to stay buried. Declared dead for the sake of stability, he continues to exist in the margins - observing how grief is choreographed, how rumors are neutralized, and how truth is processed until it no longer hurts anyone. Written as a private diary, the novel traces his slow psychological unravelling as he attempts to confess, not heroically, not cleanly, but honestly. What he discovers is worse than censorship: a system capable of absorbing truth, reframing it, and turning it into training material. His words are clipped, translated, corrected, and finally archived. His guilt is acknowledged, but never allowed to matter.
