The novel Wave of Life is set on the planet Archedron and the pulsar Terb. People there are trying to revive the dead using their waves of life, which drift through space near the planet. However, this provokes the anger of infernal beasts who jealously guard the space near Archedron, which is a temporary resting place for the life waves of the dead humans. The beasts initially attack only the ship where the experiment is being conducted, but soon they go on to assault the planet. The ship Aquila is involved in the action, as well as the pilgrims’ ship Yasmin, which is en route to a sanctuary on Terb. The humans initially are defeated by the beasts, but later help arrives — the fleet of the Galactic Federation.
