Dr. Grażyna Pająk demonstrates that by taking care of our bodies, we can enjoy meals that are not only healthy but also delicious and diverse. However, the DGD diet is recommended not only for cancer patients but also for anyone who wishes to improve and maintain their overall health and well-being. INTRODUCTION
Dear Readers,
The COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus has changed our thinking about health. Some people who became infected passed through the disease without symptoms; others were not so fortunate. As scientists and physicians have observed, many who have recovered continue to feel negative effects long after the illness has subsided and see the damage it has caused in their bodies. Troublesome intestinal pains, inflammation of the pancreas and appendix, circulatory problems, vein pains, breathing difficulties and “brain fog” are often a post-COVID legacy. It turns out that infection with this virus often disrupts the digestive system, destroys the mucous membranes of the intestines and upper respiratory tract, and damages blood vessels. Constant fatigue, lack of appetite and reduced immunity are a result of a general inflammatory state of the body, which, when intensified, causes further disorders.
To help all those willing, seeking and wandering to overcome these ailments, I am putting into your hands my ebook with the original nutritional program DGD – DrGraceDiet. The program features an appropriate method of detoxification and nutrition that improves and strengthens the body’s defenses, allowing within 30 days not only to eliminate inflammation but also to regenerate the digestive tract, seal the intestines, cleanse the body, refresh the mind and increase immunity.
In addition, the DGD diet, tested for over a quarter of a century, removes the causes of autoimmune diseases, supports the treatment of cancers, minimizes the effects of chemotherapy and effectively eliminates the causes of cancer cell formation. We can be healthy. Nobel Prize laureate Linus Carl Pauling1 once said: “Proper nutrition will be the medicine of tomorrow.” Let us not wait any longer. Let us begin today.
I invite you to read.

Chapter 1
OUR ENVIRONMENT
Technological progress in the 20th century radically changed the face of the Earth. In just a few decades we have become inhabitants of a sick planet. Living far from nature untouched by human hands, we have created a world alien to our bodies. Artificial chemical compounds, disrupted water structure, huge electromagnetic smog, destroyed flora and fauna have become allies of pathogenic parasites and microorganisms in the struggle for control over the environment.
In the history of humanity, science has never been as significant as it is today—90 percent of all scientists who have ever lived are alive right now. We have more and more ideas and new technologies that lead to further discoveries and achievements. Thousands of scientific publications are produced every day, yet the complete narrowing of specializations and difficult specialist terminology often introduce informational chaos, making it hard to see the whole issue and draw conclusions on a macro scale.
As a result, the lack of correlation between the level of social awareness and the contemporary stage of the development of technological civilization can be detrimental to the entire world. I have the impression that we know more and more, but in the flood of information we understand less and less. We are bombarded with ever more new information. Consumer pressure driven by aggressive advertising means that we rarely can give up anything. Consequently, we live in constant stress and an endless chase for civilization’s trophies. Day by day, the demands placed on us increase. Although the flourishing of science and technology accelerates the development of civilization, unfortunately it still cannot increase the body’s adaptive capacity. That is why so many of us feel bad, and disturbances of homeostasis (balance) are felt not only by our bodies but also by our minds.
For years, statistics in industrialized countries have been truly bleak: more than 75 percent of adults suffer from at least one chronic disease. Diseases of bones, joints and intestines, hypertension, atherosclerosis, allergies, obesity2, mental illnesses3 are just some of them. Studies show that arteriosclerosis begins already in youth4. More than half of children suffer from allergies, diseases of the upper respiratory tract and digestive tract, have neuroses, are overweight or have postural defects. According to the World Health Organization we have an epidemic of cancers5; diabetes has become the most common metabolic disease in the world6; more than 300 million people suffer from osteoporosis7; and over 65 percent of the population in developed countries have fungal infections8.
We are increasingly coming to realize that health at any age is a prerequisite for achieving complete happiness and satisfaction in life. Unfortunately, it is usually the case that we appreciate it most when we start to fall ill… only then does Jan Kochanowski’s most famous epigram “For Health” begin to take on a completely different dimension. Each of us would like to be healthy, but what do we really do for our health? Do we truly think about it and recognize the threats?
DRUG MANIA
Modern medicines can keep us alive for longer and longer, but in fact they do not rebuild health; most often we only experience temporary relief from ailments. When symptoms return, helpless, we go from doctor to doctor, most often lengthening the list of medications we take. Unfortunately, carefree pharmacotherapy is often associated with undesirable side effects. The chemical agents used constitute, on the one hand, a powerful burden on the organism, and on the other, their action is not very selective. The effect is short-term—we temporarily remove the symptoms, while the causes remain.
