I said, "What?" The voice said, "Draw me a sheep." I quickly stood up. I was very surprised. I rubbed my eyes. I looked closely. I saw a small, strange boy. He looked at me seriously. I later drew his picture. My drawing was not as good as him.
It was not my fault. Adults stopped me from drawing when I was six. I only knew how to draw boas. I looked at this boy with wide eyes. I was very amazed. Remember, I was far from people. But the boy did not look lost. He was not tired or hungry. He was not thirsty or scared. He did not look like a lost child.

I drew a new one. The boy smiled gently. He said, "That is not a sheep. It is a ram. It has horns." So I drew again. But he did not like it. He said, "That one is too old. I want a sheep that lives long." I was losing patience. I wanted to fix my engine. So I quickly drew a box. I told him, "This is a box. Your sheep is inside it."
I was surprised. The boy's face lit up. He said, "That is exactly what I wanted!" He asked, "Will this sheep need much grass?" I asked, "Why?" He said, "My home is very small." I told him, "It will be enough. I drew a very small sheep for you." He looked at the drawing. He said, "Not so small. Look! He is sleeping." This is how I met the little prince. I later drew his best picture.
