FRAGMENT KSIĄŻKI
It was a windy morning in Cloverburrow, and Floppy the bunny was not in the mood to hop.
He stared at his little bag lying by the door. Inside it sat his math book, and inside that book… page 42. The page of doom. The page with long division.
“What if I mess up the answers?” he mumbled. “What if Buster laughs again like last time?”
The wind outside rattled the windows. His tummy felt wobbly. He didn't want to go.
Just then, Thomas, his best friend, padded into the room with a steaming mug of lavender tea.
“You’re quiet this morning, Floppy,” he said softly.
Floppy just nodded.
Thomas sat beside him on the bench. He didn’t ask a hundred questions. He didn’t say “cheer up” or “be brave.” He just looked out the window and said, “Do you hear the wind?”
Floppy tilted his head. Whoooooosh.
“Now feel your breath,” he whispered. “In and out. In and out.” Floppy closed his eyes and listened. The wind. His breath. His heartbeat.
In.
Out.
In.
“I feel calmer,” he said, surprised.
Out.
“That’s the Now,” Thomas smiled. “Right here. Not in your head. Not on page 42. Right here.”
Floppy blinked. It was true. His tummy still uttered, but it wasn’t twisting anymore.
He took his school bag and hopped to school.
